On the 16th and 17th of April, SEU hosted the 63rd Annual Sports Competition at Taoyuan Stadium on Jiulonghu campus. A total of 4,081 people, covering undergraduates, postgraduates, and the staff, participated in at least 40 different sporting events. The two days were filled with fervor and excitement experienced amidst thrills, shrills and cheers. All the track and field events saw a zealous participation. All the athletes have manifested their athletic skills with an unimpeachable finesse. Let's listen to what they want to share about the sports competition!

100-Meter Race
It was my first time to participate in any sports event at SEU. I think I did alright but I was not satisfied with being ranked third since I could finish first or at the least the second. Anyway, here I propose some suggestions for you to get ready to perform the best in running. You need to practice speed on the daily basis and do a lot of training on the track. It really helps with the driving force in the first part of a 100-meter race.

Shot Put
I once learned folk dance. Maybe that's why I looked like dancing even if I was throwing the shot put. Thank you for your appreciation but I was not satisfied with my performance. I got a bit strained after throwing the first shot and lost the last one. I felt a little pity since I've been keeping on training twice a week since the beginning of this semester. I will keep trying next year!

110-Meter Hurdles
I felt glad to be among the participants of today's sports competition. I really had a good time and enjoyed every bit of it although it was very competitive. Actually, I saw the notice a month or two ago and since then I was keeping on practicing as a daily routine. It is said that practice makes perfect, so I maintained that till now. I came here to win a medal and that's absolutely what happened today. I gave my best and I'm satisfied with the results.

100-Meter
Race
I felt really happy to get the first place. It seemed that I got a talent for racing because of my explosive efforts. Because of my busy schedule of scientific research, it's rare for me to experience the fun of competitive sport events and show the elegant demeanor of the youth of SEU.

100-Meter
Race
Except for the daily exercise, I haven’t had such intense exercise for a long time. After the preliminary, I tore my muscle by accident. Hence it was very gratifying that I finished the final in pain and got the third place. Now I'm heading for the relay race since team spirit is what counts most and I should be responsible for other team members.

Race
I was so happy of coming the competition although I was very busy recently. I like smiling and will keep smiling despite difficulties and challenges. That’s why I can’t stop smiling even if I was in the last place. Keep smiling and never be too nervous!

4x100 Relay Race
I have been keen on fitness when I was young, and it’s now hard to give up after years of hard work. I ride 60 kilometers every day, 30 kilometers in the morning and 30 kilometers in the evening, to maintain my body fat rate and keep healthy. For this competition, I haven’t drunk for two weeks. Fortunately, I won the first place.

It was a day filled with sportsmanship, enthusiasm and memories to cherish. When I interviewed Philipaine, I suddenly remembered I once took part in the 110-meter hurdles but fell down in the game because I was so nervous. After all these years, I still feel a little pity when I flash on that game. Thanks for the athletes I interviewed today, you make me believe that the downfall of a man is not the end of the world and never quit trying and smiling.
