Recently, the research team under Associate Professor Dai Yunxi from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Southeast University and Professor Younan Xia from Georgia Institute of Technology, were invited to publish the paper titled Electrospinning and Electrospun Nanofibers: Methods, Materials and Applications in the top international academic journal “Chemical Reviews” (impact factor: 52.613), in which Dai Yunyi is the co-first author and Younan Xia is the correspondent author.

The paper reviewed the important research progress of electrospun nanofibers in the history of over 400 years, integrated the latest research achievements of intelligent electrospun nanofibers systematically, further discussed the latest development trend of electrospinning nanofibers in the cutting-edge fields of environment, catalysis, light/electronics and biomedicine, etc., and proposed a completely new research approach. This work will lead the future development direction of electrospun nanofibers, and has exerted important guiding significance for cross-disciplinary research in chemistry and materials.

“Chemical Reviews” was issued by American Chemistry Society in 1924 to publish critical papers written by authoritative experts in the field of chemistry based on extremely strict review processes. This paper was also greatly supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province.
