[Southeast University News Network, March 6] (Correspondent: SEU Publicity, Photographer: Huang Jun) In the afternoon of March 4, Southeast University held the Fifth Meeting of the Leading Team for COVID-19 Prevention and Control and Emergency Disposal. In the meeting, the participants listened to the report on the coordination of foreigners-involved epidemic prevention and control, the work plan for the return of teachers and students during the period of epidemic prevention and control, the work plan for the specific sponsorship of students for online learning, the report on establishment of Hubei provisionary CPC and CYL organizations, and also studied and deployed work in the next stage. Zuo Wei, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, President Zhang Guangjun, Managing Vice President Wang Baoping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Zheng Jiamao and Ren Lijian, Vice President Ding Hui, Huang Dawei, Jin Baosheng and Liu Pan, Li Xin, member of the Standing Committee of the school’s Party Committee and Chairman of the LaborUnion, President Assistant Liu Naifeng and Ren Zuping were present in the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Managing Vice President Wang Baoping. Principals from relevant departments of the school attended the meeting.
In the meeting, the spirit of relevant documents issued by the superiors were conveyed. Based on the status quo and assignments of epidemic prevention and control, it was decided to add a coordination team for foreigners-involved epidemic prevention and control under the current leading team for epidemic prevention and control and emergency disposal. It was also emphasized in the meeting to perfect the working mechanism in accordance with the requirements and opinions of superiors, master the conditions of international students, foreign teachers, exchange & visiting teachers and students overseas, well plan the new semester opening, and further enhance our care of them.
As emphasized in the study on the work plan for the return of teachers and students to school during the period of epidemic prevention and control, efforts should be made to guarantee their safety on the way back to school and after their return to school. All the details should be taken into consideration. As also pointed out in the meeting, special circumstances should be taken into full consideration to arrange the students to return to school in a planned and step-by-step manner. Besides, we should step up our efforts in scientific research to provide scientific and technological support for winning the epidemic prevention and control; we should further strengthen the reserves of prevention and control supplies for prior preparation for the return of teachers and students; the plan for opening the cafeteria needs to be further refined and improved. The teachers and students are only allowed to visit the wireless valley when the conditions for epidemic prevention and control are fulfilled and their safety can be guaranteed in fact. Plans for the students to take a shower at Sipailou campus and Dingjiaqiao campus during the period of epidemic prevention and control shall be further demonstrated and implemented as soon as possible. Further efforts should be enhanced in epidemic prevention and control for international students, the teachers and students for overseas exchange, internship and visiting by strictly implementing various prevention and control measures, well planning for quarantine and observation so as to prevent any possibility of imported epidemic and guarantee the campus safety.
In order to better implement the requirements of “no suspension of learning despite suspension of classes” and online teaching, fully guarantee the students to complete online learning at home, the meeting decided to provide RMB 100 of data flow subsidies to all undergraduates and prerequisite students for encouraging students to study and rest in a scientific and reasonable manner, work hard and achieve excellent results.
In the meeting, upon listening to the report on the establishment of Hubei provisional CPC and CYL organizations during the epidemic prevention and control, the participants fully affirmed this approach, emphasizing that relevant functional departments should strengthen guidance in the next stage, all provisional CPC and CYL organizations should strengthen mutual communication, seriously plan and jointly explore the approaches of working in the current special circumstances to give a full play to the role of party branches as fortresses, the pioneering and exemplary role of party members.
