Prof. Cao Jinde from Southeast University is appointed “Academician of the African Academy of Sciences”

Recently, the African Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as “AAS”) has written to Prof. Cao Jinde from SEU that given his contribution to the world science and technology, he was recommended upon independent evaluation by the multi-disciplinary experts from all sectors of Africa and upon review by the consultative committees covering over ten different fields. He’s been officially approved and granted the honorary title of “Academician of the African Academy of Sciences”.


Prof. Catherine Ngila, Executive Director of the African Academy of Sciences, was very pleased to see Prof. Cao Jinde elected as Academician of the African Academy of Sciences and expressed her sincere congratulations. She also expected for closer cooperation with Prof. Cao Jinde in the future so as to make greater contributions to the earlier achievement of scientific development goals in Africa.

It is reported that the African Academy of Sciences is committed to promoting the sustainable development of science and technology in Africa at a high level. As the highest academic institution in Africa, it has examined and screened its fellows with extremely strict criteria.

The African Academy of Sciences is a member of Alliance of International Science Organizations in the “Belt and Road” region (hereinafter referred to as the “alliance”). The alliance, co-launched by Chinese Academy of Sciences and more than 30 research institutions and international organizations from countries involved in the “Belt and Road” initiative in 2018, was designed to strengthen cooperation in scientific and technological innovation and capacity building worldwide.

Prof. Cao Jinde, Chief Professor of SEU, has long engaged in researches such as neuro dynamics and optimization, engineering stability and network swarm intelligence, etc. He has also successively presided over 8 projects under the National Natural Science Foundation of China (including 1 key project) and the project achievement has been included in the 2009 annual report of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) as part of its project achievements collection.

He has won the first National Innovation Competition Award, the first prize of Jiangsu Science and Technology Award, and Outstanding Contribution Award of Jiangsu “333 Program” in its third phase, as well as a number of honorary titles including Highly Cited Researcher of Clarivate Analytics, the first batch of Top Ten Graduate Supervisors of Jiangsu Province, and Advanced Individual of Colleges and Universities Striving for Excellence in Jiangsu Province. Apart from these, he has been awarded Academician of the Academy of Europe, Academician of Pakistan Academy of Sciences, and Academician of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, etc.
