Southeast University, Nanjing Medical University, University of Toronto and University Health Network (UHN) held the signing ceremony of the four-party cooperation agreement online

[Southeast University News Network, Jan. 28] (Correspondent: Yu Lu, Photographer: Hang Tian) On the morning of January 27, Southeast University, Nanjing Medical University, University of Toronto and University Health Network(UHN) held the signing ceremony of the four-party cooperation agreement online. Wang Baoping, Managing Vice President of Southeast University, Alex Mihailidis, Vice President of University of Toronto, Brad Wouters, Executive Vice Chairman of UHN, Li Jianqing, Vice President of Nanjing Medical University, Dominic Barton, Ambassador of Canada to China, and Dave Murphy, Consul General of Canada in Shanghai, attended the signing ceremony via video. Meanwhile, related personnel in charge of the International Cooperation Department, School of Instrument Science and Engineering, School of Biological Science and Medical Engineering etc. also attended the ceremony.

  

Wang Baoping indicated in his speech that the alliance among four giants shall further give play to their respective strengths, so as to carry out international cooperation at a higher level in the fields of health care and artificial intelligence. Moreover, such four parties are expected to pool resources, build platforms, innovate models, implement substantive cooperation and benefit all students and teachers with tangible outcomes, thus making positive contributions to the cooperation and exchange of higher education between China and Canada.

Alex Mihailidis, Brad Wouters and Li Jianqing expressed in their speeches respectively that they were looking forward to the cooperation among the four parties, as well as their dedicated efforts in the future substantive cooperation in health care and intelligent rehabilitation through various forms, such as scientific research and teacher-student communications.

Meanwhile, Dominic Barton, in his speech, not only extended his congratulations to the successful four-party cooperation, but also pointed out that this cooperation shall further promote exchanges between China and Canada, contributing to the bilateral cooperation in health care, educational research, innovation, etc.

  

This cooperation is a four-party cooperation at the school level developed and upgraded on the basis of previous four-party cooperation launched by School of Instrument Science and Engineering of SEU, School of Biomedical Engineering and Informatics of Nanjing Medical University, Department of Biomedical Engineering of University of Toronto and Toronto Rehabilitation Institute (KITE) of UHN. More importantly, the signing of the agreement shall lay a solid foundation for the future cooperation in broader areas among four parties, including health care and artificial intelligence in the future.
